Ideally, book your appointment 4-6 weeks before your departure date. This allows time for vaccines that require multiple doses and ensures your body has time to build immunity. However, we can accommodate last-minute travelers - even a consultation close to departure is better than none.

What should I bring to my travel health consultation?

Please bring your immunization records, a list of current medications, details about your travel itinerary (destinations, dates, planned activities), and your Ontario Health Card. If you have any chronic medical conditions, bring relevant medical information.

Are travel vaccines covered by OHIP?

Travel medicine services and most travel vaccines are not covered by OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Plan). However, some extended health insurance plans may provide partial or full coverage. We recommend checking with your insurance provider. We can provide itemized receipts for insurance reimbursement.

Do I need Yellow Fever vaccination for my destination?

Yellow Fever vaccination is required for entry into certain countries in Africa and South America, and also if you're arriving from a Yellow Fever endemic area. During your consultation, we'll review your specific itinerary and advise whether the vaccine is required or recommended. If needed, we can administer the vaccine and provide your official International Certificate of Vaccination.

Can I get multiple vaccines in one appointment?

Yes, most travel vaccines can be safely administered during the same visit. Our healthcare professionals will create a vaccination schedule that's both safe and efficient based on your timeline and travel plans.

What if I'm leaving very soon and haven't been vaccinated?

Contact us as soon as possible. While optimal protection requires advance planning, we can still provide important vaccines and preventative medications for last-minute travelers. Some protection is always better than none, and we'll maximize your protection given the time available.
